Difficulty Shutting Down the Blue Glow

Jun 13, 2025

Remember that the digital world is purposely designed to keep you engaged and hooked.  You are the product, even if you don't feel like that's true.  The deck is stacked against us, so to speak.  This means we have to do an even better job of being diligent, thoughtful and self-disciplined in our approach and relationship with our devices. The blue light from our screens disrupts our circadian rhythms and makes it difficult to power down. This can lead to lots of things. It's different for each of us. Maybe I stay up too late, or you procrastinate or ignore your beloved. Consider using apps or settings that reduce blue light exposure at night. Put your cell phone in the kitchen and go about your life.  Develop a calm pre-bedtime routine without screens to significantly improve your sleep quality and overall well-being. You are in charge!  Not the device.  You are living a human life, and you have the capacity to create something beautiful that your thoroughly experience in the natural world.
